QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Common Inquiries

MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET. WILL YOU TAKE THEM?

At Aloha Pet Sitters, we prioritize your animals' health and safety above all else. In emergency situation, our sitters will drop off your pet to your designated vet or another veterinarian clinic, depending on clinic hours and availability. We provide a pet-sitting agreement where the owner provides their vet's information and designate an emergency contact (in case the owner is unreachable) to make medical decisions for your pet/assist in emergency situations. In addition, we ask that our clients notify their veterinarian prior to their trip dates that their sitter is authorized to bring their pet in in an emergency, and notify your vet of your emergency contact who is authorized to make medical decisions on your behalf when you are unreachable. While we are dedicated to providing the best care possible for our clients, the sitter is not expected to be present and with your animal 24/7. We understand that emergencies can occur very suddenly in animals, and will contact your emergency contact if the sitter is not available to urgently get your pet the care they need.

DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH RARE OR EXOTIC PETS?

Outside of dogs and cats, we have experience caring for guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, quail, and turkeys. If you have another exotic/rare pet, please reach-out! We love all animals and look forward to learning how to care for a wide variety of pets. Please note that our pet sitters insurance covers all species of animals as long as they are pets, and not for commercial use.

HOW MANY DOGS CAN YOU WALK AT ONCE?

This depends greatly on the temperament and leash-manners of your dogs! For dogs that walk well on a leash and are not aggressive towards other animals/people, we can generally walk up to 3 (smaller) dogs at once. This number will be determined after your sitter has met your dogs in our complimentary meet-and-greet and evaluates their leash-walking behavior.
