QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Common Inquiries
MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET. WILL YOU TAKE THEM?
At Aloha Pet Sitters, your pet's health and safety are our top priorities. In the event of an emergency, our sitters will transport your pet to your designated veterinarian or the nearest available clinic, depending on clinic hours and availability. We require a pet-sitting agreement where owners provide their vet’s information and designate an emergency contact who can make medical decisions or assist in emergencies if the owner is unreachable. We also ask clients to inform their veterinarian before their trip that the sitter is authorized to bring in their pet in case of an emergency and to notify the vet of the designated emergency contact authorized to make decisions on their behalf. While we are committed to providing exceptional care, sitters are not expected to be with your pet 24/7. If an emergency arises while the sitter is unavailable, we will immediately reach out to your emergency contact to ensure your pet gets the urgent care they need.
DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH RARE OR EXOTIC PETS?
In addition to dogs and cats, we have cared for guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, quail, and turkeys. If you have an exotic or rare pet, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We love all animals and are excited to learn how to care for a wide variety of species. Please note that our pet sitters' insurance covers all types of pets, as long as they are pets and not for commercial use.
HOW MANY DOGS CAN YOU WALK AT ONCE?
This depends largely on your dogs' temperament and leash manners. For dogs that walk well on a leash and are not aggressive towards other animals or people, we can typically walk up to three small dogs at a time. The exact number will be determined after your sitter meets your dogs during the complimentary meet-and-greet and evaluates their leash-walking behavior.
